Jon Lester pitched a late-night gem versus the Los Angeles Angels to lead the Red Sox to a 4-1 victory in Game 1 of the ALDS. Jason Bay hit a two-run homer to give the Sox the lead. A costly base running error by Vladimir Guerrero sealed the Angels’ fate as the Red Sox made it ten consecutive postseason wins over the Angels.
