Free Red Sox Tickets Ignite Manny’s Ire

Manny Ramirez got into a little argument and shoving match with the Red Sox travel secretary while the Red Sox were in Houston at Minute Maid Stadium. 

Oh yeah, the travel secretary is about 70 years old. 

The fight began when Manny requested 15-16 tickets to a Red Sox Astros game. 

Players are normally limited to six free tickets per game.

 

CURT SCHILLING TO MISS REMAINDER OF 2008 SEASON

Curt Schilling to have season-ending and likely career-ending shoulder surgery next Monday.  

Perhaps the Red Sox and Curt can negotiate down Curt’s expected $8,000,000 salary or maybe the Sox have insurance. 

Either way, the Red Sox are expected to make a run for C.C. Sabathia of the Indians or at least make the Yankees give up more than they want to.

Boston Red Sox in First Place

The Red Sox have taken their place atop the American League East, but they are not without their problems. 

Big Papi’s status has to be worrisome, plus the fact that the Sox have a bunch of interleague games against the National League and anytime you have a series against a team you are unfamiliar with, that can be tough. 

Last but not least, the Sox have a ton of games still to be played versus the Yankees and like every Sox fan knows, those games are never easy.

Manny Ramirez Finally Hits 500th Home Run

After what seems like months of anticipation, Manny Ramirez finally hit home run No. 500 versus Chad Bradford in a game versus the Baltimore Orioles.  

Manny Being Manny joins an exclusive club becoming only the 24th major league baseball player to reach the 500 home run milestone. 

By coincidence, Manny wears jersey No. 24.  Manny is a sure All-Star selection to start in the 2008 All Star game at Yankees Stadium.

Jon Lester Pitches No-Hitter in Red Sox Victory

Jon Lester, 24 year old cancer survivor, pitched a no-hitter versus the Kansas City Royals tonight. 

Lester’s no-hitter is the first in the major leagues this season. 

Not only was the 7-0 victory Lester’s first no-hitter, it was also the lefty’s first complete game of his brief Red Sox career.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Red Sox traded reliever Bryan Corey to the pitching-starved San Diego Padres for a player to be named and cash considerations. Corey had two stints with Boston, twice being designated for assignment and ultimately re-signed to a Pawtucket contract.
