Red Sox Look To Sweep Anaheim Angels in ALDS

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

Josh Beckett will pitch Game 3 of the American League Division Series in Fenway Park versus the Angels tonight in Boston.   Beckett has not pitched in thirteen days due to an oblique injury.  Beckett is 5-5 with a 6+ ERA at Fenway this season.  Two of Beckett’s losses this season came at the hands of the Angels.   Josh pitched a four-hit shutout gem versus the Angels in Game 1 of the 2007 ALDS.  The Boston Red Sox look to sweep the Angels of Anaheim and move on to the American League Championship Series versus either the Tampa Rays or Chicago White Sox.  Defying many expectations, the Red Sox were able to pull out two dramatic victories over the Angels in Anaheim with clutch pitching, hitting and fielding.

John Lackey No-Hits the Red Sox Thru 8 Innings

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim certainly have the Red Sox’s number this year.  To make matters worse, Angels pitcher has a no-hitter going on the Red Sox through 8 innings.  Lackey has walked one Red Sox.  Angels lead 6-0.

Update: Dustin Pedroia broke up the no-no with a single to left, then Kevin Youkilis broke up the shut out with a two run home run.  Still, the Angels are looking to make it seven straight victories over the Sox.
